Ahi Tuna and Zucchini Noodle Pad Thai July 17, 2013

Ahi Tuna

Ingredients:

  • Ahi tuna steaks
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp plus 1/8 cup rice vingear
  • 2 tbsp plus 1/4 cup tamari or coconut aminos
  • 1 tsp plus 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1-3 tsp arrowroot powder mixed with 2-6 tbsp warm water

Directions:

Mix together the oil, 1 tbsp vinegar, 2 tbsp tamari, 1 tsp ginger, and crushed red pepper. Once well mixed add tuna and marinate for 30-60 minutes. While marinating, mix the 1/8 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup tamari, 1 tbsp ginger, 1/4 cup honey together until well combined. Once tuna is finished marinating, heat skillet over medium high heat and sear each side of the tuna for 2 minutes and set aside. Pour mixed ingredients in skillet and stir frequently until warm and well combined. If you wish to thicken the sauce, add the arrowroot powder mixed with water to the sauce in 1 tsp increments until desired thickness.
